Villa Bayad

We had an incredible stay at Villa Bayad — one of the best villa experiences in Bali. Almost a 10-person team (cooks, housekeeping, a manager) looked after just 6 of us — more staff than guests. Service is hotel-grade: housekeeping twice a day, even mosquito nets and coils at night. Food was delicious every time (4 meals, all different) at ~$15/person. They went above and beyond: a floating breakfast basket for our kid, car arranged, chef cooked for us, and when my husband left his phone, the manager called our driver and a staff member brought it on a scooter. The setting is pure bliss — floating in the infinity pool listening to roosters and dogs in the rice fields felt healing. The huge master suite's bathroom opens onto fish ponds — kids loved feeding fish while soaking. The villa is stunning — spacious rooms, clean comfortable pool — and worth far more than we paid. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing three days at Villa Bayad. We had people in their 80s, 50s and late teens. Everyone loved the place and the staff. Pros: Mr. Komang is an excellent manager. Yasa and the staff were warm and helpful. The setting is exactly what you see in the photos (and the photos are fantastic). The breakfast is amazing (as is lunch). The pool is great. One thing I wish I had done was coordinate with Mr. Komang more. He can provide for local transportation (the villa has a car and bikes), arrange excursions, and more. He knows what he's doing. Things to know going in: 1) You're on a hill and you need to navigate steps / grass; 2) ATVs can be heard sometimes; 3) The location is outside of Ubud (but walkable to Begawan Biji and closer to Mt. Batur / things north); 4) you're in nature (so expect to hear and encounter birds, lizards, bees, etc.) Bottom line: great experience, well appointed, and wonderful staff.
